Obituary For Mr. Charlie Griffin

Graveside services for Mr. Charlie Ray Griffin, 71 of Tyler will be held on Saturday, 11 am at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Efrem Collins serving as eulogist, under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.

Mr. Griffin was born on September 21, 1947 and transitioned on April 26, 2019. Mr. Griffin was a graduate of Bragg Morris High School, class of 1966 and he attended TJC. A lifelong resident of Smith County, Mr.Griffin attended Friendship CME Church. He retired from Hood Packaging after over 30 years of service.Mr. Griffin served in the United States Marines, in the Vietnam war from 1966 - 1969 and was a Purple Heart recipient.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents L.T. & Lula Mae Griffin, Susie( Woods) Griffin and siblings, Bill Griffin, Harvey Griffin, Leonard Griffin, and Elnita Ross. Those left to cherish his memories are spouse, Betty Griffin, Tyler; two sons, Cedric (Sharon) Griffin and Randal Griffin both of Tyler.

One daughter; Shalaya (Dominick) Cravens of Dallas , three brothers; Bernice Griffin of Lindale, John T. Crawford, Bobby Crawford both of Dallas and one sister Ruthie Jackson of Garland, four grandchildren with a host of other relatives, family, and friends.
