Mother Evelyn G. Williams, 86, of Peffer St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Friday, May 3, 2019 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was born in Berkeley County, SC, daughter of the late William and Rosalee (Snipes) Gadsden, retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot and a member of Millenium Church of God in Christ, where she served as the Church Mother, Treasurer, Finance & YPWW Secretary, on the Choir, Usher Board, Pastor's Aide and started the Church's Food Bank. Mother Williams was the widow of Robert L. Williams and leaves to celebrate her life, her sons, Robert Gadsden (Cynthia) and Stanley L. Williams (Towanna); her daughters, Dorann A. Kimble (Lodovic), Roberta L. Williams and Jacqueline Lawson; her sisters, Matilda B. Gadsden, Martha Sue Gant and Estelle Sellers; her 14 grandchildren; 23 great grands and a host of other relatives and friends. Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Lingo Memorial Church of God in Christ, Reel and Division Streets, with viewing 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton.
