Obituary For Catherine Henderson Lloyd

Catherine Henderson Lloyd was born on March 1, 1935 in Archer Florida to the late John Henderson, Sr. and Allora Henderson. This union produced six children; she was the third child. They all have preceded Catherine in death.

Catherine attended the public schools of Alachua County and was a graduate of Archer Community School. She continued her education in Jacksonville, Fl. where she received a Nursing Certificate. Catherine moved to Ft. Pierce, Fl. and was employed with Ft. Pierce Memorial Hospital, where she used her God given talent of knowing how to love and help people in her special way. She worked with Home Health Care Agencies as well as Private Care Employers. She also taught at Mrs. Watson’s kindergarten for a number of years. She dedicated her life to helping others become better in all aspects of life.

Catherine accepted Christ at an early age. She was an active member of the Macedonia Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Ft. Pierce, Fl. until she could no longer attend. She was also a teacher for the Greater Faith Community Prayer Band and an active member of the Greater Faith Community Restoration Street Ministry. She would always share the goodness of our Savior to anyone that was in her presence. She encouraged numerous people to receive Christ. She touched lives with her quiet, humorous, and giving Spirit.

Catherine was united in Holy Matrimony on May 17, 1958 to the late Roy Lloyd, Sr. They both understood how to share love, and the value of helping to meet the needs of people. Catherine would invite anyone to her house, just to sit and enjoy her delicious famous pound cakes and fried chicken. She would take people to their doctor visits, church, stores, or wherever they needed to go. She enjoyed spending her spare time gardening and fishing.

Catherine had been diagnosed with dementia, which gradually progressed throughout the years. She would steady confess that “God is my healer and my helper”. She knew that her body was just temporary and that when Jesus returns; she will have a Glorified body. On April 29, 2019 she transitioned from this body in peace.

Those left to rejoice in Catherine’s home going celebration are her children: Allora “Doll” Bea (Jackie), Ft. Pierce, Fl.; Roy “R.C” Lloyd Jr., Ft. Pierce, Fl.; Janetta Stanton (Darnell), Zephyrhills, Fl.; Alfreda Peters (Phillip), Lakeland, Fl.; Johnnie “Buck” Lloyd, Tampa, Fl.; Sister-in-laws: Jeanette Lloyd, Nassau Bahamas; Pandora Rolle, Nassau Bahamas; grandchildren: Bradley Davis, Brian Davis, Berdina Davis, Jackie Bea, Nia Lloyd, Najee Lloyd, Terrence Bea, Caleb Peters, Jada Lloyd, Kayla Peters, Nadia Lloyd, and Danai Stanton; great-grandchildren: Kim, Crystal, Brian Jr. Kendall, Janna, Ashley, and Brianna; a special cousin: Freddie Mae Allen, Archer, Fl.; a special care giver: Deborah Flowers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren, church families, and devoted friends. Heartfelt condolences to the Lloyd family. Mrs Lloyd had to be one of the kindness, sweetest elders in the neighborhood. For a while, she was the "lilly-dilly lady"...always with a welcoming smile. When I worked at Publix, she was a care-taker for an elderly lady. She would request I bag and carry her groceries to the car; slipping me a tip each time in my apron smock. Rest on Mrs Lloyd...Rest on. Thanks for being a consistent kind spirit in a world of uncertainties. Quentin Patrick @ Washington DC
