Obituary For Roosevelt "Ronnie" Adderly

Roosevelt Adderly was born July 4, 1938, in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Simeon and Thalia Stockton Adderly. "Ronnie", as he was known by many, attended Blessed Martin Catholic School in Fort PIerce. He later transferred to Lincoln Park Academy, "The Home of the Greyhounds", where he advanced two grades and graduated at the age of fifteen with the LPA Class of 1955 . After graduating, Ron moved on to Tallahassee, Florida where he attended Florida A&M University. He was very active in civil rights demonstrations with Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Ron served in the United States Air Force where he was trained and excelled in computer science. He worked and retired from the City of Los Angeles, California before returning to Ft. Pierce.

Ron received the Lord Jesus into his heart and life and was a member of the Thirteenth Street Church of God under the direction of Bishop Willie I. Robinson and Bishop J. William Adderly. He was a faithful member who attended services weekly. He paid attention to the word of God and was open to learning more about the Lord. Left with Memories of the past and that Blessed Hope for the future are: Ellen Adderly and daughters Julia Ann, Jennifer Kay and son Jared Ronald Adderly (Tiffany); Pat and son Brian Adderly. Along with them are his brothers Simeon Adderly (Charlene), Bill Adderly (Shirley) and sister Renee' Adderly-Clark. Also sharing in this are several grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, relatives and friends.

When Ron would ask his younger siblings, what do you want to be in life: a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher? He would stress to them "Be Happy"!

A service honoring the memory of Mr. Adderly will take place on Friday, May 10, 2019 13th Street Church of God, Greater Faith beginning at 5:00pm.
