Obituary For Mrs. Annie Mae Francis

Mrs. Annie Mae Francis of Greenwood, Florida entered into eternal rest of Sunday, May 5th at Jackson Hospital. She was years old. A native of Jackson County, she was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. After meeting and marrying her late husband, Alexander Francis, she became a military wife that often to various states with her husband. She worked as a CNA and Unit Secretary before becoming the Union Organizer of 1199 of the Health Care Industry in New York. After retirement, the family moved back to Greenwood, where she later became a Council Member for the Town of Greenwood. She leaves cherished memories with two grandchildren, Min. Marlanna J. Brooks of Indianapolis, Indiana and Dr. Myron L. Hall of Los Angeles, California; four great grandchildren, Shalanna J. Brooks of Clarksville, Tennessee, Shamarria L. Brooks of West Palm Beach, Florida, Shaleea J. Brooks and Lee Monte’ Brooks both of Atlanta, Georgia; cousins, Betty Ellis and Eddie Ellis, Jr. (Rev. Linda) both of Marianna, Florida; and a host of other extended family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 10th at 2:00p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Harvey and Rev. Maxie Swinton officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
