Ossie Lofton

Tallahassee - Ossie Lofton, 69, died Friday, April 19, 2019.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church (1516 Mike Street) with burial at Southside Cemetery.

Viewing-visitation is 3-7 p.m. Friday at Strong and Jones.

A lifelong resident of Tallahassee, Ossie worked for various companies and retired from Florida State University as a groundskeeper. He was converted at an early age and joined Mt. Carmel M. B. Church. He was also an avid fisherman.

He is survived by two sons, Ossie O. Lofton and Christopher Lofton of Tallahassee, FL; two daughters, Lucretica Lofton and Tawana Lofton of Tallahassee, FL; one brother, Robert Lofton Jr. (Mattie); two sisters, Elizabeth White of Fort Myers, FL and Dorothy L. Roberts of Philadelphia, PA; best friend, James Herring of Tallahassee, FL; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
