Obituary For Leroy Mobley, Sr.

MR. LEROY MOBLEY, SR. - Age 82, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019. He was born on March 7, 1937 in Unadilla, Georgia to the late James and Alfonzy Mobley. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he was chairman of the Trustee Board, retired from the NAACP National Office in Baltimore, Maryland, and was a United States Army Veteran. His son, Andre Mobley, sisters, Lena Mobley, Rose Mobley, brothers, Ronald “Red”, Milton, Calvin, and Thomas Mobley, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Connie Y. Mobley of Calhoun, Georgia; sons, LeRoy Mobley, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland, Tyress (Shunda) Austin of Calhoun, and Jake West of Perry, Georgia; daughters, Tangie (Tony) Partlow, Danette (Tony) Johnson of Calhoun, and Joanne Toomer of Perry; grandchildren, Darryl Johnson, II, Meghan Partlow, Morgan Partlow, Naesja Johnson, Saniah Austin, Makiah Austin, Janiah Austin, Cordell Eugene Toomer, Shantell Jones, Steven Jerome West, Michael Lee West and Jake West, Jr.; sisters, Connie Jean Mobley of Connecticut, Dorothy Mae (Melvin) West of Miami, Florida, and Carrie Bell (Wayne) Harrell of Warner Robbins, Georgia; brother, Marshall (Ellen) Mobley of Connecticut; sister-in-law, Maude M. Chattam of Calhoun; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Friendship Baptist Church, 452 West Line Street, Calhoun, Georgia, with Pastor James Washington, Jr. and other ministers officiating. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Thursday after 11:00 A.M. and at the church on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour. Interment, Gordon Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
