On April 5, 1983 a legend was born. Cheers and applause echoed through the halls of Crawford W. Long Hospital, welcoming into the world Roneisha LaShay Hayes, the youngest child born to Valerie Browning Bullock and Ronald D. Hayes, Sr. As a native Atlantan, she grew up in the "Hatfield Circle" house, being showered with love & lots of support and discipline from her mom and sisters Sallieta and Shirlenda. As a young child her intense love for them was rivaled only by her more intense love for Mickey Mouse. Roneisha’s bubbly spirit, contagious laugh and huge heart drew many people to her growing up. She attended Dekalb County Schools where she graduated from Lakeside High School in 2001. At an early age Roneisha gave her life to Christ. She was a faithful member of Central United Methodist Church where she served in several capacities. She was s a devoted choir member, worked in the nursery, served as an Acolyte, and participated with the YAMS just to name a few. Roneisha was a “Jackie” of-all-trades who loved cooking, sewing, crafting and singing. Her nurturing spirit was evident through her love for children. In fact, she was always known for babysitting someone’s child and offering pediatric advice and home remedies to new moms. So often she became affectionately referred to as “Dr. Roe.” In addition to her platinum “Susie Homemaker” certificate and her unofficial medical degree, her most cherished and beloved role was being a mom. On August 19th 2005, Roneisha was blessed by God with her greatest gift, her “Toot”, Jeremiah Ishmael Sweet. She poured EVERYTHING she had into him, the one true love of her life. As an extension of her love and devotion to her son, Roneisha served as “Team Mom” for all his sports; football, basketball and baseball. In return she was respected and loved dearly by the entire Gresham Park Family!! Roneisha enjoyed people. This was shown in the professions she chose...Greyhound Bus Lines, AirServe, Department of Family and Children Services, and finally Kroger. Roneisha’s life came full circle at Emory Midtown Hospital (Crawford W. Long Hospital) where she departed this life on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her son, Jeremiah I. Sweet; parents Valerie (Darrell) Browning Bullock and Ronald D. Hayes, Sr.; sisters, Sallieta Ragland, Shirlenda Hayes, Sierra Hayes, Kiara Hayes, Annette Bullock Watts, and Monique Miller; brothers, Ronald Hayes, Jr., Darrell (Tramaine) Bullock, Jr., Gerrell (Candace) Boykins, Naquan (Talon) Smith; grandmothers, Shirley D.
