Obituary For Shirley Virginia Fox McKenzie

Shirley Virginia Fox McKenzie was born on June 1, 1939 to the late Irene Fox and Erskine Fox in Fort Pierce, FL. She matriculated through the schools of Saint Lucie County ultimately attending and finishing high school at Lincoln Park Academy. She served her family as a housewife and even served her husband being the bookkeeper for his business. She also enjoyed going to different places to shop and spending time watching sports. Her most favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm.

On Thursday, May 16, 2019, the Lord saw that His child had grown weary and whispered to her and bid her to come home and take her rest. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Louis C. McKenzie; parents, Erskine and Irene Fox; brothers, Charles and Leroy Fox, Sr.; and sisters, Sarah Warren and Berniece Ross.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Judy(Michael)Green, Samuel(Stephanie)Andrews, Glenda Taylor(Raymond Robinson), Louis(Elvaline)McKenzie, Jr., Annie Rogers; sisters, Agnes Johnson, Gladys Fox Brown, Peggy Sumpter all of Fort Pierce, FL, and Donnie Sue Minter of Willinboro, NJ; sisters-in-law, Artessie Waight, Evelyn McKenzie, Nettie McKenzie; brothers-in-law, Joseph Waight, Carl McKenzie, Miller McKenzie, Tommie Sumpter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.

Public visitation for Shirley McKenzie will take place on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 6:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 1:00pm at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL.
