Funeral service for Mr. Melvin "Sip" Harris will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Carver Community Center.

Pastor Ernest Benson, officiating. Interment at Lincoln Hill Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church.

He embraces his new life with his parents, Ralph and Bernice Harris; brother, Ralph Harris Jr.; daughter, Alicia Harris Cox; grandson, Montrell Jerome Cox; aunt, Mary Van (Auntie) Mathis; and nephews, Van Bernard Harris and Dexter Murphy Mosley. He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Vonceil C Smith, Ph.D., Gary Ricardo Glover, Misty Harris Bowden (Garry, M.D.); four sisters, Barbara Jean Harris Mosley, Delores Harris Sullivan, Linda Faye Harris Taylor (Charles), Brenda Kay Harris Stallings (Robert); one brother, John Lester Harris (Sandra); five grandchildren, Candace Monique Stockdale (Tacaro), Dajiana Elbria Cox, Brandi Glover, Cornelius Glover and Jeramie Glover; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
