Obituary For Mr. Rene' Paul ST. Cyr

Rene’ Paul St. Cyr began his life on August 8, 1958. He was the third son and fifth child from the marital union of Zeno Wesley St. Cyr, Sr. and Elizabeth Constance Bates.

Rene’ was baptized at an early age. He served as an Altar Boy and participated in many youth activities while attending St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

As a youngster, he was introduced to tennis by his father, who loved the game. He received tennis lessons from family friend and professional tennis player and trainer, Nehemiah Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson saw Rene’s athletic abilities, love for the game, and encouraged him to continue lessons with him. However, as time went on, Rene’ had other priorities and enjoyed playing tennis in his spare time until an accident left him with a physical impairment. Though unable to play, he was an avid watcher of televised matches until his death.

Rene’ graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and attended Morehouse (Atlanta, GA) and Centenary (Shreveport, LA) Colleges before graduating from Southern University (New Orleans, LA) with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work. Through the years, he has been recognized for his professionalism and excellence in the field of Social Work.

While at Centenary, Rene’ joined Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., following in the footsteps of his father and two older brothers.

Rene’ Paul St. Cyr was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Elizabeth Constance Bates St. Cyr, and was followed in death by his father, Zeno W. St. Cyr, Sr. He leaves to mourn his death from New Orleans: Rise’ St. Cyr Williams (Deline), Terri L.
