Youtha leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Joe E. Carter, Jr. (Tuwanda); two children, Olivia M. Carter and Garrison J.Carter all of Bethesda, MD; and one sister, Azalea R. Williams of Roanoke, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Youtha was a graduate of Saint Paul's College and served as an educator for 38 years--mostly in Henry County Public Schools. She was a member of Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church and previously served as administrative secretary, and participated on several missionaries including Culinary, Christian Education, Women's Missionary Circle, Pastor's Aid, Sunday School, and was a member of the Mass Choir, and Birthday Social Club. She also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 11,2019 at noon at Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 50 Moral Hill Drive, Axton, VA with Rev. Dr. Thurman O. Echols, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends 45 minutes prior to the service at the church and all other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Hairston, 200 John Spencer Road, Martinsville, VA 24112.
