Obituary For Tony Dimitri Bruce

Tony D. Bruce, 26, of Bland St., Rocky Mt., VA, departed this life on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born September 11, 1992 in Virginia, the son of the late Jimmy D. Bruce, Jr. and Vicki Hairston.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy D. Bruce, Sr.; and great grandfather, Robert Long, Sr.

Tony attended Martinsville High School, and was employed by the Hairston Home for Adults for many years. Tony leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Vicki Hairston of Martinsville, VA; one son, De’Kerea Bruce; one daughter, My’Keriyah Bruce both of Martinsville, VA; fiancé, Randee Mitchum of Rocky Mt., VA; three sister, Kendra Bruce, Schaquoria Barbour and KeAija Richardson all of Martinsville, VA; three brothers, Jimmy Hairston, Marquis Bruce and JaShaun Richardson all of Martinsville, VA; step-father, Jay Richardson of Martinsville, VA; step-mother, Tracy Bruce of Martinsville, VA; two step-sisters, Felicia Motley and Marquita Motley both of Martinsville, VA; two step-brothers, Felice Martin and Darius Dillard both of Martinsville, VA; Maternal grandparents, Robert Long and Mary Hairston both of Martinsville, VA; maternal grandmother, Mary Bruce of Martinsville, VA; great grandmother, Frances Long of Martinsville, VA; two nieces, Ny’Asia Moss and Nevaeh Moss both of Martinsville, VA; three nephews, Macayden Bruce, Ja’Syne Moss and Josiah Moss all of Martinsville, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Refuge Temple Ministries, with Elder Moses Barr officiating. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service and other times at the home of his mother, Vicki Hairston 801 Highland Ridge, Martinsville, VA. Burial will follow at the Bruce family cemetery, Henry, VA.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hairston Funeral Home, Martinsville, VA.
