Obituary For Mr. Victor Keyes Brooks

Mr. Victor K. Brooks passed. Celebration of life will be Saturday June 29, 2019 at 10:00 am. Christ the Lord Church of Atlanta 3760 Glenwood Rd. Decatur, GA 30032. Visitation on Friday June 28, 2019 12 noon to 6:00 pm.

Mr. Victor K. Brooks was born July 23, 1954, in Atlanta Georgia, as the youngest of three children to the late Richard Allen Brooks and the late Ezell (Mitchell) Brooks.

Victor grew up in southwest Atlanta where he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. He loved all sports but loved playing baseball most. Victor loved listening to music, and he found great joy in teaching others what he knew how to do. Victor was known for being a good driver, which makes it no surprise that his vocation for most of his adult life entailed driving.

As a child, Victor attended St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized. As an adult, Victor was compelled to draw close to God, so he decided to be baptized again as demonstration of his love and devotion to Christ. Victor was a member of Christ the Lord Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher for several years. Victor cherished and was devoted to his church family and faithfully served his church as long as he was physically able. He also loved his natural family and cherished every moment he spent with them.

Victor was preceded in death by his mother: Ezell (Mitchell) Brooks, his father: Richard A. Brooks, brother: Richard Bernard Brooks, grandparents: John and Phoebe Brooks, grandparents: Robert Mitchell, Sr. and Katie Mae Mitchell, aunt: Ethel Mary Brooks, uncle: Robert Brooks, uncle: Robert Mitchell)r.

Victor is survived by his brother Donald L. Brooks (Earvenia), two nieces: Nekilia Martin (Prince), Zonja Brooks, two nephews: Donald E. Brooks, Adrick Brooks, cousins who are as brothers: Vincent K. Brooks, Eric A. Brooks, Russell A. Brooks, and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Take your rest. We love you, however, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit loves you best. You are home with the Lord.

I want to offer my condolences to the family and friends. It is a painful thing to lose someone very precious, yet no one else can really know all that you feel except our Heavenly Father. He knows and feels your pain. Allow him to give the comfort you need at this time through prayer as he invites us to do at Philippians 4:6, 7 “…in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God;7 and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.” He has promised that under his Kingdom rule he will remove sickness, old age, and death from his human family (Isaiah 33:24; Job 33:24, 25; 1 Corinthians 15:26). May you be comforted by these words.
