Harold Peyton Horton, Sr. was born on March 11, 1950, to the late Willie Horton, Sr. and Ola Mae Horton-Howard in Simpson, County, Mississippi. He Transitioned from this earthly life to his Heavenly Home on June 29, 2019. Harold was a man of many talents and he demonstrated them well. He was a dedicated and loyal building Superintendent for many years with JFP Builders Inc. In addition to the many talents, he was the CEO and Owner of Horton’s Plumbing Service along with his Son. Their Motto is Excellence is Always Best. Harold was a faithful and dedicated member of the Rocky Springs Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Class Teacher and the list goes on and on in many other capacities. He was a believer in Christ and committed to serving God. He always had the Church at heart. Harold gained the utmost respect at the Church as well as in the community where he will be greatly missed. His life and legacy will remain in the hearts of many forever. He always took a stand for what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He had a heart after God which was exemplified through loving, giving, caring and sharing. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and looking for nothing in return. Harold met and married his high school sweetheart, Frances Taylor Horton on October 31, 1970. To this union they were blessed with 4 children; Harold Jr., Peggye, Eric and Victoria. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family going on vacations, dinner dates, and the list continues with many happy memories that they will always cherish. Harold leaves to cherish his precious memories, a loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Frances Horton; two daughters: Peggye Horton of Raymond, MS; and Victoria (Marcus) Carradine of Houston, TX; two sons: Harold (Crystal) Horton, Jr. of Jackson, MS; and Eric (Kesia) Horton of Liberty Township, OH; eight grandchildren: Breyunah Horton, Romell Horton, Destiny Dixon, Loren Horton, Ciara Williams, James Williams, Jr., Eric Horton Jr., and Peyton Latham; one great grandchild, Christiana Dixon; two god-children: Krystal (Jerome) Beaman and Christopher (Miracle) Taylor; a loving mother: Ola Mae Horton-Howard; four sisters: Marie Pope, Minnie McGee, Lucille (Derrick) Patton, and Louise (James) Edwards; seven brothers: Dr. Rev. Jessie (Bettie) Horton, Rev. W. C. Horton, Sr., Nazare Horton, Roosevelt (Iris) Horton, Tommy (Pricillia) Horton, David Horton and Rev. R.D. (Paulette) Wells; a host of in-laws: Throssia Horton, Annie Joiner, Christine Taylor, Mildred Horns, Janice Taylor, Maxine Taylor, Calvin Taylor, Clifton Taylor, Gregory (Lacheryl) Taylor, Barbara Horton, Maplean Horton, Princess Horton and Catherine Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends along with the Rocky Springs Church Family. He was preceded in death by his father; Willie Horton, Sr., his brothers: Willie Horton, Jr., Moses Horton, Sr., M. C. Horton, and Jerry Lee Horton; his sisters: Ida Kendrick, Betty Horton, and Annarisa Horton.
