BROOKLYN, NY- Donald Grant transitioned from this life on June 28, 2019. Though he lived his adult life in Brooklyn, New York, he considered Spartanburg his home. He was a graduate of Samuel Tilden High School in Brooklyn where he was a star athlete. He attended South Carolina State University where he pledged and was an active member of W.I.N.E Psi Phi Fraternity. Donald received an associate degree in Accounting from the Borough of Manhattan Community College. He was employed by the United States Postal Service and served as the manager in many of its largest facilities in Manhattan, New York. He retired from USPS in 2015.

Donald married Yvette Riddick-Grant. Their union lasted 29 years. He was a proud father and grandfather. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, daughter Monique and grandsons Gregory and Grant of Jacksonville, Florida. He was the youngest of seven siblings who also mourn his passing. They are Joe of Washington, DC; Pearlie Annette of Blythewood, SC; Mickey and Mary Nell of Brooklyn, NY; Jerome of Orangeburg, SC and Tony of Columbia, SC. He also leaves a host of uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins and in laws. Donald was preceded in death by parents, Dora Jean Montgomery Grant and Joseph Nathaniel Grant.

Services will be held at the J. W. Woodward Funeral Home at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, July 9. Internment will be at Lincoln Memorial Gardens.
