Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Evans, 76, of 168 Daniely Drive, will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Simmons Funeral Home Crematory and Chapel, with interment to follow in Heavenly Rest Memorial Park. Reverend H.T. Gainey is officiating.

Mr. Arthur "Bubba" Evans was born on April 1, 1943 to the late Everlee and Mary Hart Evans. Bubba entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at his residence.

Bubba attended George Washington-Carver High School. Shortly thereafter, he began working at Greenwood Mills in Orangeburg, SC, where he served in many different capacities. Prior to the plant closure, Bubba provided over 20 years of hard work, dedication and service. As a result of plant closure, he then made the decision to take an opportunity as a forklift operator at Coxwood Preserve. Bubba became a staple at Coxwood and was loved by all he came in contact with. He was quiet in nature and reserved, but when he spoke, everyone listened. Bubba retired from coxwood Preserve after over 20 years of service when his wife became ill.

He was preceded in death by his life, Linda Lee Stevenson Evans; his parents, Everlee and Mary Hart Evans; and a sister, Annie Mae Miller.

Bubba leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving sons, Terry (Monica) Evans of Cordova, SC and Arthur (Tessa) Evans of Savannah, GA; two beautiful daughters, Lenora (Clyde) Davis of Charleston, SC and Hope (Tony) Gaines of Orangeburg, SC; fourteen grandchildren, Monique, Chris, Martino, Sequoi, Ashley (Acreen) Tierese, Briante, Megan, Tony, Danielle, Tyree, Jaden, Ivanian and Gabrielle; one brother, James (Romana) Evans of Cordova, SC; two sisters, Mary Lee Jennings of Syracuse, NY and Mary Bowman of Orangeburg, SC; a brother-in-law, Booker T. Jennings of Cordova, SC; five sisters-in-law, Maxine Alston, Maggie (Arthur) Dantzler, Alice (Mike) Simpson all of Orangeburg, SC, Pearl (Rob) Brown of Mount Royal, NJ and Catherine (Augusta) Woodyard of Cordova, SC; and a host of great grandchildren; nieces; nephew; family and friends.

Visitation will be held 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday.

Family and friends may call at the residence of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. James and Romona Evans, 1627 Cannon Bridge Road, Orangeburg, between the hours of 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg.
