Raised in Cincinnati, Jamal graduated from Walnut Hills High School in 1990. At Tuskegee University (Tuskegee, Alabama), Jamal earned the degree of Bachelor of Science in Animal, Poultry and Veterinary Sciences. In 1998, The School of Veterinary Medicine of Tuskegee University granted Jamal O. Toler his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (Cum Laude). While attending Tuskegee University, Jamal Toler met the love of his life. He united in holy matrimony with Dr. Whitney Rose Toler on September 14, 2002. Their union has been blessed with two daughters, Jasmine Olivia and Skyler Gabriélle. As an accomplished Veterinarian, Dr. Jamal Toler worked in Michigan and Ohio prior to moving to Georgia. In 2003, the Tolers became the owners of the widely known Deshon Animal Hospital. Providing orthopedic surgeries was one of his passions. He often mentored high school students. An avid hunter and fisherman, Jamal Toler was one in nature. As a member of the Rod Benders Fishing Club, he received numerous plaques for winning fishing tournaments. With fellow Tuskegee Alumni, he hunted deer, pheasant, wild boar, and wild turkeys. As a family man, Jamal Toler helped his daughters with their homework and taught them to be self-sufficient. Family vacation travel included several destinations within the United States and abroad. He always gave gifts and flowers for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. He delighted grilling as well as cooking a fried turkey for Thanksgiving. Known for his intellect and perspective, he always gave sound advice on personal, financial, or professional matters. A proud and active alumnus, Dr. Toler financially supported his Alma Mater and regularly attended its Veterinarian Symposium. Those who cherish the memory of Dr. Jamal O.
