Obituary For Elsie Bolen

Mother Elsie E. Bolen, 94, of Boas St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Jewish Home.

She was born in York, daughter of the late James and Eleanor (Harris) Wright, retired from PennDot, a member and Church Mother of Christ Gospel Temple Apostolic Church, where she served as a Trustee, Record Keeper and President Emeritus of the Usher Board. Mother Bolen was the widow of Emerson Ellsworth Bolen and in addition to him and her parents, she was preceded in death by four of her children, Lillian Richardson, Thomas Ellsworth Bolen, Avery Emerson Bolen and Carmella Bolen and leaves to celebrate her life, her daughters, Linda Bennett of Greensboro, NC; Portia Bolen-Geter, Rosemary Payne and Rev. Paula E. Jackson, all of Harrisburg; her special niece/daughters, Lois Green and Dr. Barbara Butler; her 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grands, 24 great-great grands and a host of other relatives, church family and friends. Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of her Church at 1310 S. 24th St., with viewing 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. and burial on Monday, July 29 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
