Obituary For Alfred Blankumsee, Sr.

Alfred Alfonzo Blankumsee, Sr., the twelfth child of the late Jack Bernard Blankumsee, Sr., and the late Eddie Bell Ransom-Blankumsee, was born on February 27, 195, in Quitman, Georgia. He was raised and educated in Quitman, Georgia, and was a member of the Brooks County High Class of 1972.

Once Alfred graduated from Brooks County High School, he worked several years at Crackin’ Good Bakery in Valdosta, Georgia. Alfred was baptized at Laurel Street Church of Christ, Quitman, Georgia. He later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, and began working for the Heekin Can Company. Later in life, Alfred became self-employed in the Construction Industry. Alfred was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jack Sr. and Eddie Bell Blankumsee; brothers: Willie James, Jack Jr., and Thomas “Sonny” Blankumsee; sisters: Mary Frances Phillips (Russell Sr.) and Shirley Moore.

He leaves an abundance of precious legacies to be cherished by his loving children: Alfred Blankumsee, Jr., Temenski “Mint” Blankumsee, Felicia Blankumsee, Renata Jones, Juanta Roberts, Duanta Roberts, Octavius (Darlene) Davis, Kendall L. (Rey) Blankumsee, Rachel (Ibrahim) Doukoure, Alexander Clark and Marquize (Dominque) Reese, Sr.; Grandchildren: Keandra Blankumsee, Zaquez Blankumsee, Thomas Bryant, Saniya Blankumsee, Kendrell Golden, Ja’juanshea Newsome, Toccara Sutton, Ryan Roberts, Marquize Reese, Jr., Marquez Reese, Marquavius Reese, Tarsha Moore, Seth Davis, Chelsea Moore, Octavius Davis, Jr., Amber Davis, Teresa Davis, Mya Gee, Ibrahim Doukoure, Jr. Nadia Douglas, Shania Jones, Sedgrick McGriff, Jr. Tionne Jones, Kensley Blankumsee, and Korbin Blankumsee; Great-Grandchildren: Kassidy Blankumsee, Kali Blankumsee, Skyla Sears, and Michaela Charles; Brothers: Howard (Kathy) Sacramento, CA, and Solomon (Catherine) Blankumsee, Quitman, GA; Sisters: Mildred Thomas, Quitman, GA; Eddie Mae Marshall, Atlanta, GA, Odessa Blankumsee and Arleen Golden, both of Valdosta, GA; Special Friend: April Powell, Cincinnati, OH; Lifelong friend and classmate, Jo Carolyn Brown; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service for Mr. Alfred Blankumsee, Sr. will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at Shumate Street Church of Christ. Family Visitation: Tuesday, August 6, 2019: 6:00 – 7:00 PM in the BTW Funeral Service’s Chapel, Quitman, Georgia. Burial: North End Cemetery, Quitman, Georgia.
