Obituary For Josephine Croft

Mrs. Josephine Croft,90, Collinsville Passed away peacefully surround by her loving family Monday August 5,2019. The Obituary Mother Frances Josephine Croft was born July 15, 1929 to the late Buford McElrath and Vinnie Bynum in Collinsville, Alabama. At an early age, she received Christ and joined Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

She received her education in Dekalb County School System. On January 14, 1946, she married the love of her life, the late Harvey Croft. In this union, four children were born. One preceded her in death.

She was a hard-working, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was an outstanding cook, a nurturer for her children and so many others that knew her. She had a green thumb when it came to caring for flowers. She was an avid baker. She loved God and she loved people.

She had a sweet spirit. On June 7, 1972, she made her walk with God.

For sure, she was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost and was born into Good Samaritans Church of God in Christ. She served faithfully as the Church Mother, Church Treasury, President of the kitchen until the church closed. She didn’t stop. She enjoyed being in the House of God. She then joined Pentacostal Temple Church of God in Christ and attended faithfully until she moved to Tallapoosa, GA and joined Blessed Hope Church of God in Christ. Under the leadership of her son-in-law, Elder Aaron Phillips. She was appointed Church Mother.

She later moved to Carrollton, GA. And attended Hogansville Church of

God in Christ.

It was always her desire to be in the house of the Lord. She moved back to Collinsville, AL. and started her final journey on the battlefield for the Lord. She attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church until she was unable to attend church anymore.

On Monday, August 5, 2019, she closed her eyes and went to sleep !

Preceding her in death: Daughter; Olandust Croft, Husband; Harvey Croft. Two brothers; Elder Robert McElrath and Reverend Buford McElrath. Three sisters; Bessie Silbert, Odell Hill, and Louise Croft. She leaves to cherish her memories; Three loving and devoted daughters; Sandra L. Croft, Bronx, NY, Linda Underwood, Collinsville, AL. and Janice (Elder Aaron) Phillips, Carrollton, GA. One sister; Irene Gardner, Summerville, GA. Five grandchildren; Patricia Underwood, Cincinnati, OH., Jordia (Annie) Underwood, Collinsville, AL., Nakia (Gabriel) Brown of Bremen GA., Aaron Phillips Sr. and Antoine Phillips of Carrollton, GA. Eight great grands; Quenton Vishal and Angeline Vishal of Cincinnati, OH., Jordia Underwood Jr., Rashawn Underwood and Hezekiah Underwood of Collinsville, Al., Jordan Brown, Cameron Brown and Taylor Brown of Bremen, GA. Three sisters-in-love; Sadie McElrath, Anniston, AL., Doris McElrath, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Ora Jones, Collinsville, AL. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She also have several other daughter who called her mom.

Funeral services will be at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church 4798 Cedar St.Cedar Bluff, Al. 35959 Time: 1:00pm Date: Saturday, August 17, 2019 Internment: Weiss Lake Memorial Cemetery
