Obituary For Dana Olden Baldwin II

Dana Olden Baldwin II, 71, of Greensboro, NC, departed this life on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1947 in Virginia to the late James Hayes Baldwin, Jr. and Arthama Turner Baldwin. In addition to his parents, Dana was preceded in death by his brother, James H. Baldwin, II and nephew, Warren E. Cook.

Dana leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Marie B. Hairston (Willie) of Martinsville, VA; three nephews, William E. Cook ( Carmen) of Beltsville, MD, Wilford E. Cook of Atlanta, GA and James H. Baldwin, IV (Linda) of California; one niece, Angela Baldwin of Greensboro, NC; good friends/coworkers, Veria Garland, Sandra Weeks , Carl Ferguson, and Postal Family PTDC Greensboro, N.C.; and other relatives and friends.

He was a employee of U.S.Postal Service as a processing clerk for 46 years. Dana was past President of Postmasters - Toastmasters of Greensboro, N.C. He served in the U.S. Marines Corp.as a Lance Coporal and was a Purple Heart Recipient and served in Vietnam. He was a graduate of Albert Harris High School, Class of 1966.

The funeral will be held Monday, August 12, 2019 at 12 noon at The C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA, with Rev. Dr. Thurman O. Echols, Jr. Eulogist. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m- Noon. Interment will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, VA.

Dana, could always offer advice and give you a good laugh while doing so. He was a fellow co-worker of mine at the Post Office.. man 46 years! A true testament of his character and hard work. You will be definitely missed but most often remembered. Love you Mr. Baldwin.. Sincerely, Dee Fulton

Dana was a coworker of mine and I'm glad I got the opportunity to have a nice chat with him not long ago. Dana was a good listener and cared about others. He would help those who needed help.
