Obituary For Dewey Edmonds

Elder Dewey Lee Edmonds, 102, of Harrisburg,transitioned on Friday, August 2, 2019.

He was born in Appling County, GA, son of the late George and Estella (Richardson) Edmonds. Elder Edmonds, a pillar of the community, was the pastor of Banks Memorial Temple Church and was also PA United Diocese Assistant State Elder. He was an employee of the former Naval Supply Depot in Mechnicsburg and retired from the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. Later, he was a Crossing Guard for the City of Harrisburg and retired at the age of 81. Elder Edmonds was the widower of Arnell Harris Edmonds and in addition to her, his parents and his four siblings, he was preceded in transitioning by three of his sons. He leaves to perpetuate his godly example, his children, Rev. Dr. Geraldine Crystal, Joyce Spears, Constance Gunning (Rodney), Deborah Cammack, Terri Robinson (James R.) and Michael Brown; a host of other relatives, his church family and friends.

His life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ, 1830 North 5th St., with viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton
