My deepest prayers and condolences are with the entire family during this difficult time. Cortez was a childhood friend of my son, Patrick Denzel Johnson. Cortez use to come to my home for sleep overs and attend several outings. I saw him a month ago and he exhibit that contagious smile that he was known for. He will be missed but you will see him again. Be encouraged because Christ will never put no more on you than you can bear. Deacon Ricky L. Johnson

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family, especially his mother. To lose a child is one of the hardest and deepest pains to go through. I hope that you all receive the comfort and strength that you need to make it through this difficult time! You will see him again in paradise! "And He will wipe out of tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things will have passed away." - Revelation 21:4.

My deepest prayers and condolences are with the entire family during this difficult time. Cortez was a former, brilliant student of mine in my English Composition and World Literature courses at Virginia Union University seven years ago. Moreover, I recently just spoke to him last week and told him how proud I am of him. I’m at a loss for words. This is truly a great loss. Peace and Blessings, Dr. Monique L. Akassi

My condolences to this young man's family. I didn't know him, but for some reason, I feel like I do. Justice will be served. Trust God. My heart truly goes out to this man's Mother. Just know that a stranger loves you all and know the grief you all are experiencing. I was the first to lay flowers and candles where his soul transcended. God Bless the Black King. Special regards to his Beautiful daughter Paris.
