Obituary For Stephanie Renee Etter

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.,New Galilean Chapel, 3830 Flag Chapel Rd., Jackson, MS 39209 with burial in Autumn Woods Cemetery, 4000 W. Northside Drive, Jackson, MS 39209.

On Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS, Stephanie was transitioned her life to her eternal home. The Lord called his beautiful angel home to her eternal resting place. On June 28, 1971, Stephanie Renee Etter was born to Clarence and Corene Etter in Hinds County, Jackson, MS who was the youngest daughter of five siblings born to this union.

She accepted Christ at an early age an was a member of Hickory Block United Methodist Church in Union Church, MS. She continued her christian services in Jackson, MS where she attended New Galilean M.B. Church.

She was known as a christian, kind-hearted, generous, daughter, sister, aunt godmother, second mom, other mother, friend, best friend, confidant, special friend, member of class of 1989, Provine High School, member of class of 1994, Jackson State University, accountant, beautiful-inside & out, bright smile, organized, humble, number one Jackson State University and number one Pittsburg Steeler Fan, no matter hour you knew her or how you categorized her, Stephanie Etter was and will always be described using the fore-mentioned adjectives and more, when we think of her, talk about and remember her with a smile in our hearts and on our faces PJB.

Stephanie worked at Kroger, Deposit Guaranty Bank, State Treasury for twenty years and stated her dream job with the Supreme Court which she worked for two weeks. Stephanie enjoyed football, westerns, cooking, tailgating and kickball, but most of all she enjoyed her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Clarence and Corene Whalum Etter, her maternal grandparents; Cleveland Whalum and Louise Gilchrist, brother; Cleveland Etter, brother in law; Reginald Hamberry, paternal grandparents; Clarence and Josie Mae Etter; aunts; Corene Blanchard of Las Vegas, NV; Josie Etter of Sunnyvale, CA, Shirley Etter of Redding, CA, Deloris Etter of Weed, CA, Lorriane Etter of Weed, CA, uncles; John Etter of Redding, CA, Larry Etter of Redding, CA.

Stephanie peacefully slipped away leaving to cherish her memories and love, two sisters; Angela Etter of Jackson, MS, Valerie Hamberry of Milpitas, CA; one brother; Michael Etter of Jackson, MS; two nieces; Brittany Etter of Jackson, MS, Dejoney Etter of San Jose, CA; five nephews; Brian Ransom of Jackson, MS, Darrien Hamberry and Kendall Hampton of Milpitas, CA; Joseph Williams of Jackson, MS; Cameron Etter of San Jose, CA; four great nieces, nephews, two god children; Tyler Johnson, Brandon Johnson all of Jackson, MS, uncles; Lawrence Whalum (Arlis), George Whalum all of Kankakee, IL, Michael Whalum (Anita) of Las Vegas, NV, aunts; Jeanette Chambers of Chicago, IL, Janice Wilson of Victorville, CA, Yolanda Whalum of Las Vegas, NV, Colette Whalum of Kankakee, IL, Veronica Whalum of Las Vegas, NV, a special cousin, Mildred Virgil Pendleton of Wesson, MS, a special god mother, Ann Jackson of Jackson, MS. Stephanie also leaves a circle of extended family and friends who'll cherish her forever including childhood friends, Stephanie Hatcher, Wanda Sylvester Johnson and Peggy Wells, special friends Andre' Williams and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

I have fond memories of Stephanie when we both worked for the MS Treasury. She had the warmest smile and always kind words. She will be greatly missed.
