Jessie Carter Age 67 formerly of Murfreesboro, TN passed away in Cleveland, OH on Aug 13, 2019.

Jesse Neal (Toad) Carter age 67, 4th child born to the late George and Mary Odom Carter. Jesse was preceded in death by grandparents Jimmie Neal and Ida Martin Odom, his parents, and daughter India Bailey. Jesse is survived by devoted partner Marie Bailey, son Chike Collier, daughter Shirlein Leggon, grandchildren: Jordyn Lally, Jada, Jevon and Javan Bailey, Chaze and Cortez Harris, brothers: George Wilson and James Edmond (Rosetta) Carter, sister Mary Ann Wilkerson, nephews: Derek Carter, Al (Rochelle) Wilkerson, Jason Wilkerson and Donodrick Carter, Nieces: Regina (Alden) Ward , Taji (Terry) Charase, Philamina Brooks, Andrenee Douglas, several grand nieces and grand nephews, loving cousins and very dear friends.

Family Visitation: Friday Aug 23, 2019 from 3-6pm at Hellum Funeral Chapel also Saturday 11-12 noon with Funeral Service to follow at St. John UM Church 17300 Cainsville Rd Lascassas, TN

I'm so very sad to hear of Jessie's passing. We were lab partners in Coach Windham's freshman class at Central, and even after so many years of only knowing him for that one brief semester, I can't help but mourn such a genuinely good person. He was the type of person you just liked instantly. Gentle and kind, and even though WE all knew what a star football player he was, he never acted like HE knew it too. Susan Slaten Garant
