Obituary For David Alan Roddy

Funeral services will be Monday, August 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., Westhaven Funeral Home Chapel, 3580 Robinson Street, Jackson, MS 39209 with burial in Autumn Woods Cemetery, 4000 W. Northside Drive, Jackson, MS 39209.

David Alan Roddy was born on July 12, 1966, to Margaret and James Roddy in Chicago, IL. He was the first of six children. David accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Chicago Public Schools and later completed his studies at Turner Job Corp Center, where he got his GED and later completed his trade and received his certificate as a licensed plumber. David or “Sweet Jake Jones”, as he was more commonly known, was loved by many. Even though he was licensed as a plumber, his passion was fixing cars. He was self taught and could work on cars from sun up to sun down. He loved life and had a good time in it, he never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by so many. David departed this life on August 15, 2019. He is preceded in death by his, mother, Margaret Roddy; father, James “Jimmy” Roddy; and his brother, James Bernard Roddy. He will be truly missed and leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kejuana; two sisters, Lisa (David) Roddy and Barbara (Mario); two brothers, Corey Roddy and Darryl (Jennifer) Roddy; seven children, David Roddy, Chicago, IL; Devonte Johnson, David Johnson, Joshua, Lillian, Felicia and Brooklyn; three aunts, Mary, Betty and Artis (Robert) all of Chicago, IL; two uncles, Marvin Jenkins, Oakland, CA; and Cornell Jenkins, Jackson, MS; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
