Obituary For Apostle Irene J. Jacobs

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., Wayside Vision Church of Deliverance, 16258 Midway Road, Terry, MS 39170 with burial in Wayside Church Cemetery in Terry, MS.

Apostle Irene Jones Jacobs was born December 6, 1953 to the Late Rev. Robert Jones and Mary Francis Salone Jones. She departed this life on August 15, 2019. She was the youngest of twelve siblings. Four sisters Mary, Ardelia, Ruby and Nora; two brothers Henry and James; and eleven children proceeded her in death.

Apostle graduated from Sumner Hill High School in 1971. She later received an associate degree from Hinds Community College in Phlebotomy. She worked for many years as a phlebotomist at the Mississippi Department of Health and Mary C. Jones Community Clinic until retiring into full-time ministry.

Apostle Jacobs met and married Floyd Jones early in life and from that union two children were born.

Apostle later married the love of her life, Deacon Oliver Jacobs on December 11, 1975. Apostle and Deacon have been happily married for 44 years. Apostle Jacobs received the Holy Ghost in 1975 the year of our Lord at Wayside Church of Deliverance in Clinton, Mississippi under the Late Kathryn Banks Williams. She served faithful until being commissioned to Wayside Vision Church of Deliverance in Terry, Mississippi. She took the one room church with no running water and transformed it to the sanctuary it is today. Apostle Jacobs served as the Senior Pastor of the Wayside Vision Church for the last 40 years. Apostle loved God’s people. She loved to serve and to feed the homeless. Many sons and daughters were birthed from her ministry of love. She served as the mentor to many and the pastor to the multitude.

Apostle has served faithfully with much determination and strength. She is a general in the Kingdom. She loved the people of God and has served the kingdom with all her might. Apostle Jacobs founded Kingdom Builders Outreach Ministries, Inc. to the furtherance of the kingdom. Apostle continued to serve even as her health failed, she consistently called on the name of our God. She was the epitome of determination and strength.

Apostle leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Deacon Oliver Jacobs of Terry, MS. Her children Donyel Jones (Jackson MS) and Francis Brown (Raymond, MS), Two sisters, Min. Sarah Coleman (Jackson, MS), Min. Myrtle Anderson (Biloxi, MS), two brothers Rev. Samuel Jones (Deloris) and Nathaniel Jones of Raymond, MS. Four granddaughters, Lakendria (Dakoto) Bledsoe, Marrisa Jones, Tiquanna Jones and Miranda Edwards; one grandson, Jercodio Jones and two great grandchildren; Elizabeth Bledsoe and Melaina Bledsoe, a host of other children, including but not limited to, Faye (Willie) Young, Shirley (Sylvester) Turnage, Pearlie Bigham, Pasty Windom, Angela Jones, Kathlene (Russell) Williams, Toni Anderson, Candice Garror, and David Garner, her Wayside church family, a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Prophetess Jacobs, you came across my mind tonight. It has been some years since I have seen you. You would stay at Cherotel hotel in Lake Jackson, Texas whenever you were here to preach. You truly blessed my life with our talks and the word of God. Thank you for those talks. I love you Roxane. My prayers and condolences goes out to the family and friends.

never did I ever hear a negative or harsh word come from ur lips. It was always "encouraged...determined..GODs in charge. I try not to question GOD cus HE only takes the best.but this !!! You never cease to amaze me. Now u are bestowed all GODs power. Maken intercession in heaven. Folk would always ask where u from. Straight from heaven I thought.Ur dialect and intellect was so refined. What Id give to wash your feet fluff pat and rub. Nobody compares to you. The way u wore ur suits hats corsages even ur robes shoes n stockings. I will always luv you. I always has. You taught me most of everything I kno.please continue to saturate us in your love. Nothing can separate even when I run away...your love never fails. You stayed same through the ages. Your never changed...pain in the night but joy come in the morning. I won't be afraid..because i know that you love me...you make all.things beautiful. Nobody compares to you.. Well done Apostle until we meet again
