Mr. Alvin Chester Lenoir was born July 21, 1955 to J.W. and Janie Lenoir of Hazlehurst, MS who preceded him in death. He graduated from Hazlehurst High School in 1974. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served 13 years as a clinical specialist. He pursued a career as a travel nurse and later worked at Merit Health River Oaks as a staff licensed practical nurse. He also served as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Heritage House of Castlewoods. He later worked at Central Mississippi Medical Center. Health forced him to retire from nursing. On November 22, 1983, he married Joyce Williams and to this union, they reared two daughters: Michelle Williams and Joyce Lenoir. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Joyce Lenoir; two daughters: Michelle Williams of Yonkers, NY and Joyce Lenoir of Atlanta, GA; two god-daughters: Richelle Lenoir of Austin, TX and Mikayla Lenoir of Hazlehurst, MS; four brothers: J.W. Lenoir, Jr., Eli (Terry) Lenoir of Michigan City, IN; Walter Lenoir, Robert (Louise) Lenoir of Hazlehurst, MS; and Richard Lenoir (Wanda) of Hazlehurst, MS; two sisters: Brenda Singleton (J.C.) of Bakersfield, CA and Minnie Fair (Jessie) of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters-in-law: Doris (Milton) Lewis of Byram, MS and Brenda (Jerry) Dotson of Austin, TX; three brothers-in-law: Charles (Jamie) Ivy of Miami, FL; George (Albertha) Ivy of Vicksburg, MS; and Michael Ivy of Jackson, MS. He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by six brothers: Joe, J.C., R.J., Eugene, Ellis and Thomas; two sisters: Carrie Mabry and Mary Nell Catchings.
