Betty Jean Rosser was born in Cascade, Virginia to the late James Hairston and Sadie Mae Robinson Hairston, known as “Mrs. Handy”. Betty was born in Pittsylvania, County, VA December 10, 1944 and was called home August 23, 2019 at the age of 74 years. Betty Jean retired from Fieldcrest Cannon after 25 years of service. Afterwards, she cared for her mother, Sadie Mae until her homegoing at the age of 94. Afterward, Betty continued her life journey not meeting a stranger and welcoming everyone into her home. She was also preceded by her son; Jimmy Dean Raleigh, brothers, John Hairston and Odell Hairston and sister, Francis Inez Spencer. Betty was survived: by her only daughter; Linda Faye Hairston of Reidsville, NC, three sons; Jesse M. Hairston and his wife, Lolita Holland of Wilmington, NC, Bobby Louis Hairston of Eden, NC, Clarence Junior Hairston and his fiancé’, Robin Mascoll of Durham, NC, 11 grandchildren; Kendal Brown, Mario Lemons, MaDario Lampkins, DaSean Lampkins, Ty Hairston, Jermaine Hairston, Carlos Hairston, Bobby Hairston, Jr., Jesse Hairston, Jr., Ebony Hairston, Sheree Wooten, a host of great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
