Obituary For Willie Mae Smith

Willie Mae Smith, the oldest of three children was born December 8, 1926 to the late Robert and Bessie Norwood. She departed this life with her son by her side on August 31, 2019 at Cambridge Hills Assistant Living Center, Pittsboro, NC. Willie Mae attended Haywood School in Haywood, NC and graduated from Horton High School, Pittsboro, NC. She joined Ebenezer A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age where she was a faithful member until her health declined. Willie Mae was married to the late Leonza Smith for 59 years at the time of his death in 2007. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her precious memories two sons, Moses and Leon Smith of Moncure, NC; one daughter, Shirley A. Smith of Moncure; brother, Thomas Norwood (JoAnn) of Raleigh, NC; sister Carrie McMillian of Richmond, VA; three grandchildren, Joi Smith, Johnta Hanna (Tonya) and Nathurius Crump; three great grandchildren, Hanna Smith, Graci Rose Smith-Griffin and Faith Smith-Griffin and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
