Obituary For Ellene Green

Celebration of Life for Pastor Ellene Morgan Green will be Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Southside Church of God In Christ, 2179 Emerson Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. Pastor Green’s remains will rest for visitation of family and friends on Friday, September 13, 2019 from 5 – 8 p.m. at New Apostolic Shiloh Holiness Church, 2102 Caljon Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32207 and at the church Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The procession will leave from 11217 Forestdale Road, 32218. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Ellene Morgan Green was born June 9, 1929 in Sylvester, Georgia to Leamon Morgan Sr. and Claudell Goodman Morgan. She attended the local school in Worth County, Georgia. She was united in holy matrimony to Nathaniel Green; to this union, five children were born: Flora, Nathaniel Jr, Jearldine, Michael, and Patrick. Pastor Green accepted Christ and became a faithful member of Apostolic Shiloh Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Hattie Mae Williams for many years. She served on the Usher Board, was a Deaconess, and later became President of the Usher Board. She accepted the call into ministry and was trained, licensed, and ordained by her Pastor, Elder Hattie Mae Williams. She was the first Pastor for Jacksonville Holiness Deliverance Church Inc. in 1978 under the leadership of Apostle Isaiah Revills where she served faithfully until 1990. The Lord led her to start The Lord Jesus Holiness Deliverance Church for All People, where she served until 2009 due to health reasons. Pastor Green was preceded in death by her parents: Leamon Morgan Sr. and Claudell Goodman Taylor; sisters, Virtistene Morgan, Kathene Green, Barbara Ann Morgan, Laverne Houston; brother, Leamon Morgan Jr; stepdaughter, Sharon Greene-Davenport; and great-granddaughter, Ja’Dore Simone Bonaparte. Sunday morning, September 1, 2019, Pastor Green stepped into glory to be with the Lord. She leaves a legacy of love in the hearts of her loving family: husband, Nathaniel Green Sr; children, Flora D. Coleman (Marion), Nathaniel Green Jr (Gloria), Jearldine Harper, Michael Green (Vandis), and Patrick Green, adopted daughter, Betty Newbill Patterson (Willlie); stepchildren, Barbara Green and Curtis Black; grandchildren, Anita Bonaparte (James), Nathaniel Green III, Nicole Shoto (Michael), Latonya Davis (Cornell), LaMarion Coleman, Stephanie Green-Charles (Leopold), Tishana Simmons (Derrick), Doris Harry (Roderick), Mikel Ling, Sandreca Green, Ashley Green, Kibrina Green, Monica Holden (Terrill), Whitney Cooley (Baron), Patrick Green Jr, Michael Brandon Green, Carlisa Ebanks (Anthony), Jayquan Green, Shantoria Robinson, Michael Hilliard, Lakeisha Dennis, Emmanuel Pressley, Marquise Pressley, LaVonette Mitchell (Reginald) and Clinton Brown; great-grandchildren, Blake Neil, Jasmine Jones, E’Mon Bonaparte, Gerard Cull (Jasmine), Jordan Shoto, Destinee Coleman, Gabrielle Green, Sonia Graham (Ozell), Michael Shoto Jr, Courtney Vance, Kanari Reid, James Alexander Harry, Jaden Charles, Kaleb Holden, Terrill Holden, Samiya Cooley, Khalil Cooley, London Bonaparte, Gracie Harry, Tristan Holden, Roderick Harry Jr, Devin Green, Addyson Green, Skylar Cooley, Jamari Simmons, Reginae Mitchell, Lauryn Mitchell and Trinity Mitchell; siblings, Christine Morgan, Betty Jean Holloman, Earline Watson, Eddie Brown Jr., Earl Morgan (Ida), Raymond Morgan, William Morgan (Stephanie), Ann Nell Morgan-Milton, Jacquelyn Jackson (Wayne); sisters-in-law, Pecola Austin, Janie Morgan; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Godchildren, Geneva Young, Charmaine Simmons and Apostle Jacquelyn C. Porter; God-sister, Pastor Gloria Anderson; longtime friend and neighbor Mrs. Doris Hills; and Janice Walker Boyd, longtime sitter and devoted caregiver.
