Obituary For .Pauline King

Pauline King was born on May 11, 1949 in Lovett, Florida to T.J. Ashley and Lucy Mae Thomas. She was a faithful servant of Jehovah until she entered his memory on August 29, 2019.

Pauline attended Greenville High School in Greenville, Florida and later attended North Florida Junior College for nursing becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse.

After moving to Valdosta, Georgia, she met and married James Nathaniel King. This union produced a son and a daughter. However, James and Pauline were later divorced. Then a little bit later in life she met Sammy Green and added another daughter and son to her family. She worked at Dowling Bag, Inc. during her early years and later moved to Quitman, Georgia and that’s when she attained her LPN liscense.

Around the early 1970’s, Pauline started studying the bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. She dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 31, 1976, the most important day of her life. She took great joy and encouragement in the preaching work and spreading the good news about Jehovah’s Kingdom. In fact, just a few short weeks before her passing, she made return visits with some of her brothers and sisters. Just to see how happy she was spiritually and fellow shipping with one another, you would have had to been there.

Also in knowing Pauline you know that one of her strongest assets was her mouth. There wasn’t a stranger she didn’t meet. Whether in a grocery line, an amusement park, out running other errands or wherever there were people, she was going to talk to somebody. That’s just who she was. She was a very caring person.

Pauline King was preceded in death by her father T.J. Ashley, her oldest brother Robert James Ashley and one brother-in-law, David Lloyd Douglas. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Nathan A. King, Valdosta, GA and Sammy L. King, Duluth, GA; two daughters, Wonelle K. Edwards (Joseph), Augusta, GA and Cassandra Y. King (Sam), Gainesville, GA; her mother, Lucy M. Ashley, Quitman, GA; four sisters, Rosa Jones, Quitman, GA, Polly Douglas, Country of Panama, Mattie Gosier (Charles), College Park GA, and Thelma Ashley, Lithonia, GA; two brothers , Ernest C. Ashley, Hiram, GA and Michael Ashley, Sr., Lithonia, GA; one aunt, Lemoris Thomas, Madison, FL; a very special cousin, Glenn Cobb; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many devoted friends.

Memorial Service for Mrs. Pauline King will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Quitman, GA. The family will receive friends, Friday, September 6, 2019: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the BTW Funeral Service’s Chapel, Quitman, Georgia.
