Obituary For Torthel Slayton Sr.

Torthel D. Slayton, Sr., 40, of Blytheville passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born March 18, 1979 in Osceola, Arkansas and was the son of Larry Jacobs and Cynthia Harris. Torthel was a past employee of Creative Foods in Osceola, a faithful member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and attended Osceola High School. Torthel will be remembered for his love of Facebook, football, basketball but most of all his love for his children.

He is survived by his wife, Marisi Henderson Slayton of the home, his parents, Cynthia Harris of Osceola, Arkansas and Larry (Elnora) Jacobs of Blytheville, Arkansas; two daughters, Kielin Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Torneisha Slayton of Osceola, Arkansas; six sons, Taquesis Young of Waterloo, Iowa; Torthel Slayton, Jr., of Osceola, Arkansas; TyEric Gilmer of Blytheville, Arkansas; Quindale Slayton of Osceola, Arkansas; Quincy Slayton of Osceola, Arkansas; and Tormarion Slayton of Blytheville, Arkansas; three sisters, Farrah Love of Gosnell, Arkansas, Latrecia Jacobs of Osceola, Arkansas and LaSheila Jacobs of Jonesboro, Arkansas; six brothers, Antonio (Reketa) Slayton, Eugene (Michelle) Chew, Bernard (Willie Mae) Webb all of Osceola, Arkansas; Chester (Savannah) Tyler of Blytheville, Arkansas; Braylen Thomas and Elgin Thomas both of Conway, Arkansas; one grandson, Roman Young of Waterloo, Iowa; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 20, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division, Blytheville, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Osceola High School Auditorium, 2800 West Semmes Avenue, Osceola, Arkansas. Reverend Frederick Clay, Sr. will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola, Arkansas.

McDonald-Horne Funeral Home is in charge of all services and arrangements.
