Obituary For Elnora Clark

A TIME TO BE BORN: Elnora was born on March 23, 1947 to the late Guy and Anna Webb Stewart on March 23, 1947.

A TIME TO GROW: She attended Long Creek High School and later moved to St. Louis, MO.

A TIME TO LOVE: She was married to Mr. Henry Clark and later divorced but they remained friends until her death.

A TIME TO WORK: Elnora worked for the Attala County Sheriff Department as a Jailer for many years.

A TIME TO SERVE: Elnora was truly devoted to her church; New Bethel M.B. Church, until her health declined and she moved to Waterloo, Iowa with her sister, Laura. She was choir director and President of the Women's Club. She loved her church and was always willing to help wherever she could. She enjoyed cooking large meals and inviting friends over for dinner. Elnora was the founder of Sallis Day, which is held each year around the fourth of July, and it has grown to be an exciting event where old friends reunite.

A TIME TO LAUGH: Elnora enjoyed quality time with her friends, family, church members and neighbors. She was very amusing and would keep you laughing the whole time you were around. She was always cheerful and friendly. Her warm disposition made even a stranger feel welcome.

A TIME TO SAY GOODBYE: Elnora is preceded in death by her parents: Guy & Anna Webb Stewart; Siblings: Guy, Jr., Robert and James Stewart. On Saturday, August 24, 2019, our beloved Elnora peacefully departed this life in Waterloo, Iowa.

A TIME TO MOURN: She leaves to cherish her memories, one sister, Mrs. Laura Teague of Waterloo, Iowa; two brothers: Hubert Stewart (Connie) of Waterloo, Iowa; two brothers, Hubert Stewart (Connie) of Waterloo, Iowa and Roosevelt Stewart of Sallis, MS; five stepchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
