Joy was employed at King Daughter Hospital in Yazoo City, MS and retired from Singing River Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Earlene Gibson; father, Lewis Ellis; brothers, Johnnie E. Dean and Grady Gibson, Jr.
She leaves cherished memories to her children; daughter, Braighane (Lamar, Sr.) Walker; and sons, Sidney (Kemperine) Fields and Ralph (Eva) Fields; grandchildren, Mary (Markes) Turcker, Lamar Walker, Jr., Brandon Fields, Daniel Fields, and Kendrick Fields; great grandchildren, Makenzia Tucker, Landon Perkins and Anthony Perkins; sisters, Gracie McDonald, Shirley Butler, and Saprenia Spencer; brothers, Curtis (Daphane) Dean, Donald (Karen) Gibson, Tracy (Paulett) Gibson, Cornlius (Clara) Gibson and Lewis (Debbie) Ellis, Jr.; devoted family and friends, Aunt Mattie Odom, Katie Body and Lillian Collin, uncle Leonard (Muriel) Ellis, Marion Davis, Mary Rollins, and Mary Rhodes. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at The Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1028 Denny Avenue, Pascagoula, MS. Pastor John W. Davis, Sr. will officiate.
