Lena Mae Cook, daughter of Jack and Rosie Lee Trawick, was born on June 16th, 1943 in Slocomb, Alabama. She was the eighth born of eleven siblings. She attended Geneva County Training School located in Slocomb, Alabama where she graduated in 1961. Lena then moved to Atlanta in 1967 to work as a seamstress for Kicks & Lids and Anthony Men's Store located in the Downtown Atlanta and Greenbriar areas. A lady of grace, style, and leadership – Lena was also an entrepreneur in her own right. She started her own business as a tailor and had the opportunity to make a myriad of hand-sewn dresses, clothing ensembles, and suits for individuals, groups and businesses over the course of several decades. On November 7, 1977, she was united in holy matrimony to the love her life, Mr. George Wesley Cook. The two have lived, loved, and enjoyed this life together for the past 42 years. She is the mother of four sons; David H. Cade, Kerry B. Cade (Jan), Sean Cook (Jeanitris), and Christopher Cook (Brandy). In 1977, Lena was also licensed as an Evangelist at Temple of Christ Church located in Atlanta, Georgia where she served for many years. Lena did not just praise God with her lips, she praised Him through her actions. In 1990 she and her husband helped found Faith Deliverance church and also founded and pastored Miracle Deliverance Ministries in 1999 both located in Riverdale, Ga. Both ministries were stepping stones of faith for her children, their friends, and men and women from all walks of life. She is preceded in death by one son David H. Cade, three brothers Luther Trawick, George Trawick, Bernie Trawick, and two sisters Jewel Summerour and Lucille Blackmon. Along with her husband and sons, she leaves to cherish her memory six grandchildren Tashana Sessions, Keri Cade, Kristopher Cade (Telissia), Destiny Cook, Bailey Cook and Ryhann Cook, two great-grandchildren Terence and Trinity Cade, three sisters Lillie Mae Jackson, her twin Rena Trawick, Everlene Lewis and one brother Michael Trawick (Mae) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, church members and friends. Daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, business woman, minister, and friend. Evangelist Lena Cook leaves behind a legacy of love that will empower those who have shared this life with her for many years to come. Her love and her legacy lives on through all of us.
