Obituary For Moszell Kendall

Mrs. Moszell Dickerson Kendall was born to the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Traylor Dickerson and the late Mr. Perry Dickerson on August 12, 1938, in Thomaston, Upson County, GA. She attended the Cunningham School in Yatesville, GA. At an early age, she joined the Logtown Bethel Church.

During her young womanhood, she married Mr. Samuel “Sam” Kendall, Jr. on April 28, 1958. To this union four children were born. To help provide for her family, she was employed by Mrs. Angela Kennedy as a private duty housekeeper. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Moszell loved the preaching of the Word of God. She was faithful in her attendance and supported her church. She was a member of the Mother’s Board Ministry, a former member of the Usher Board Ministry and Choir.

During her leisure time, she enjoyed her family gatherings; it didn’t matter what was planned, as long as the family was together she was happy! She faithfully watched her soap operas, especially The Young And The Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful She truly enjoyed shopping for shoes, purses, and jewelry. She also loved her trips to the casinos with family, playing Bingo, and Pokeno with friends, and winning scratch-offs, and hanging out at Betty and Danny Thurmond’s house. Mrs. Moszell also enjoyed riding around town with her friends; laughing and having a good time.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings, Ella Frank Cox, Orlean Pennyman, Novella Dickerson, Bertha Dickerson, Kattie Maude Harris, Emmett Dickerson, and Jimmy Dikes; and one son, Willie Carl Kendall.

On Monday, August 19, 2019, she peacefully entered into eternal rest. Her spirit took flight and returned to the Heavenly Father. She will be greatly missed by her family, church members, and many friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory; three children, Mrs. Tersia (Archie) Raines of Yatesville, GA, Mr. Tony (Yolanda) Kendall of Augusta, GA, and Mr. Gary (Rosalyn) Kendall of Deatesville, AL; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Linda Kendall of Thomaston, GA; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; her extended family, Ms. Kathy Ferguson, Ms. Kimberly Elsbree, Mr. Archie Kennedy and families, all of Atlanta, GA; two devoted friends, Mrs. Lillie Mae Cunningham and Mrs. Clyde Petty; a devoted niece, Ms. Virginia Wonnum; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service was held Saturday, August 24, 2019 11:00 A.M. Logtown Bethel Church
