Obituary For Lorene Jordan Curry

A home going celebration for Mrs. Lorene Jordan Curry, 69, will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. Matthew Leonard will be the eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Curry will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Lorene Jordan Curry began life’s journey on Tuesday, January 17, 1950 to Elijah Jordan and Rannie McClurkin Jordan in Talladega, Alabama.

Mrs. Curry accepted Christ as her Lord and personal Savior and united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She received her education at Talladega County Training School. Lorene was employed with Tyson Foods.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 9, 2019, Mrs. Curry answered the Master’s call. She was preceded in passing by her husband, John Curry; a son, Tyrone Jordan; parents, Elijah and Rannie Jordan; and a sister, Rannie Lee Jordan.

Mrs. Curry leaves to continue her legacy: three daughters, Sakenee (James) Curry of Munford, Alabama, Cassandra (Dexter) Swain and Lafreta Curry of Talladega, Alabama; two sons, Ken B. Jordan and John Curry of Talladega, Alabama; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Angie (Richard) Williams and Flora (Jim) Smith of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
