Obituary For Daisy E. Rice

Daisy Rice was born on March 22, 1936 in Fort Pierce, FL to the late Ceasar Ricks and Amelia Cully Ricks. She was the youngest of 5 siblings. Daisy was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida. She attended the local schools here in Saint Lucie County graduating from Lincoln Park Academy in 1954. After graduation, she matriculated to Florida A & M University. This year was also very significant because she married the love of her life Mr. Lewis Rice whom she was married to for over 58 years. To this union were born three children, Lewis, Lawanna and Marshea.

She was employed as a secretary in the school system of St. Lucie County. She worked at C. A. Moore Elementary, Fort Pierce Central High and Fort Pierce Westwood High School. She was a woman who was loved by all that came in contact with her, more especially her family, friends, teachers and students. To know Daisy was to love her. She retired from the St. Lucie County School Board after giving 40 years of service in May 1999.

Her walk with Christ started at an early age where she attended Goodwill Presbyterian Church with her father. After marriage, she started attending Saint Paul AME Church where she was a faithful member, stewardess, and served as a member of the usher board.

The Lord reached down from Heaven and gathered another one of his angels. On October 5, 2019, Daisy went from earth to Glory.

To cherish her memory and celebrate her life, her daughter, Marshea Rice; her son, Lewis Rice Jr. (Andrea); her grandchildren, Tyrell Rice, Kesha Rice, Kelsey Snow Anderson (Brandon) Kaylia Snow, Keanndra Snow, Khalia Snow, Brittni Rice, Lynette Rice ; great-grand children, Mya Rice, Brandee Anderson, Branisha Anderson, Brandon Anderson Jr., Bryan Anderson, Alayla Brown, Tyler Rice, Cortavious Anderson Jr.; sister, Elaine Bradley of Fort Pierce, FL; brothers, Ceasar Ricks of Fort Pierce, Donald Ricks (Roena) of Deerfield, FL; Dear lifelong friend, Alberta Anderson; godchildren, Charlie Frank Matthews Jr., Nerissa Matthews, Tamiya and Taniya Goodman, and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
