Obituary For Bruce Phillips

Funeral service for Mr. Bruce Joseph Phillips will be conducted 10:00 AM Friday, October 18, 2019 at J. O. & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 S. Johns St., Florence. Interment will follow in Florence National Cemetery, with the Veterans Honor Guard, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Bruce was born on August 21, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Mrs. Phillips. He departed this life Sunday, October 13, 2019. Bruce attended Benjamin Franklin High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After completion of High School he joined the United States Army. Bruce also received numerous certificates in Art, Culinary Training, Sanitation Worker and as an Industrial Forklift Driver.

Bruce was employed by McCall Farms in Effingham, South Carolina and owned and operated his own small business, BP Enterprise Cleaning Service in Florence, South Carolina.

Bruce was joined in holy matrimony in 2019 to Harriett Phillips.

Bruce loved to draw, cook, fish, study the bible and make others laugh.

Bruce leaves to cherish: his wife, Harriett Phillips of Florence, South Carolina; a son, Damaris Griffin of Knoxville, Tennessee; a step-son, Santreze Lee of Norcross, Georgia; one brother, Isaac Pitts of Lawrence, Kansas; one step-daughter, Tennille (Ronald Scott) Laws of Florence, South Carolina; one step-grandson, Caiden Laws of Florence, South Carolina; a host of brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
