Mr. Michael Dallas, Sr., Bartow, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, October 16, 2019. “Dallas” as he was lovingly called was born in Richmond County to the parentage of Shirley Louise Glover Dallas and the late Edward Dallas, Sr. After the passing of his father “Dallas” was blessed to have another God fearing Christian man to call “Daddy” come into his life, the late Rev. Edward Coy, Jr. “Dallas” was a 1971 graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School. After graduating he served in the United States Marine Corp. After an Honorable Discharge he employed by several law enforcement agencies including Jefferson County Sheriff Department, Wrens Police Department, Wadley Police Department, McDuffie County Sheriff Department. Other survivors include his wife, Jamie Smith Dallas, Bartow, Georgia; mother, Shirley Dallas Coy, Augusta, Georgia; four sons, Michael Dallas (Monica) Meyers of Augusta, Georgia, Quinton Dallas of Columbus, Georgia, Bryant Dallas of Savannah, Georgia, Xavier “Sugarman” Alvin of Augusta, Georgia; his step daughter, Jiyah Brown of Louisville, Georgia, four daughters, Katrenda (Tarrance) Durr of Atlanta, Georgia, DeShella Dallas of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tabatha Dallas of Columbus, Georgia; one sister, Minister Jean (Rev. Willie, Jr.) Callaway; one brother, Marc Anthony Coy, Sr. both of Augusta, Georgia; mother-in-law, Jeanette Young Smith of Louisville, Georgia. 13 grandchildren and 1 great grand, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Memorial services will be held Friday, October 25, 2019 at 12 Noon at Beulah Grove Baptist Church, 1434 Poplar St. Augusta, Georgia 30901 with Rev. Dr. Sam Davis Officiating. The family may be contacted at the residence of his mother-in-law, Jeanette Smith, 1903 Old U.S. Highway 1, Wadley, GA or at the residence of his mother, 2344 Sprucewood Court, Augusta, GA.
