I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. II Timothy 4:7-8

Brenda Lee Harden- Gipson (Bren) was born November 29, 1961 in Jackson, Mississippi to Ernest Harden, Sr. and Bernice Amos-Harden. She was baptized at Greater Fairview M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. S.L. Spann, Sr.

She was educated in the Jackson Public Schools System, where she graduated from Callaway High School in 1981. After graduating, she attended Hinds Community College in Jackson, MS. She loved to go skating with her sister Rita, and even introduced her nieces and nephews to this family pastime. She also loved to laugh; and it was the type of laugh that made you want to laugh even if you didn’t know what was funny. She was a HUGE New Orleans Saint fan! Most importantly, Bren LOVED her family! Everyone who knew her would say that she was happiest when surrounded by family. She was employed by Krystal restaurant for 12 years where she served faithfully until she became a stay at home mom. Her children meant the world to her.

With her daughter Marquissa T. Harden by her side, she married the love of her life, Felix Gipson, Sr. on December 28, 1997. At 4 years old, the bond was formed between these two, and it would prove to be unbreakable. To that union, two sons were born, Felix Gipson, Jr. and Frederick Gipson.

She was preceded in death by her mother (Bernice Amos-Harden) father (Earnest Harden) sister (Cheryl Denise Harden) and two brothers (John Harden and Frank Harden)

Bren leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Felix Gipson, Sr; her three children, Marquissa Harden, Felix Gipson Jr., and Frederick Gipson; her sisters, Ailene Harden, Carolyn (Timothy) Taylor, Joann (Willie) Rucker, Berlinda (Issac) Warden, and Rita Terrell; her brothers James Harden and Donald (Ruth) Harden; four sister in laws, Shirley Harden, Annette Gibson, Johnny Gipson, and Reane Gipson; two brothers in law, Ray Gipson and Quint Gipson; and one special God-son, Ricky Brown,III. She also leaves a host of very close nieces and nephews whom she adored; cousins, other relatives, and friends.
