She was educated in Dillon County Public Schools. At an early age she joined Bethel AME Church in Dillon, South Carolina and later moved to Mullins, South Carolina where she joined the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. She worked timeless on the Mother’s Board and Missionary Ministry. She later joined Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Eric Shaun Pompey. Mother Smith was the oldest mother of Faith Baptist Center. She loved her family and church. She was a sweet giving person with a heart of gold, she loved putting up vegetables and sharing them with the community. Mother Cinda was a fantastic cook and would feed anyone who wanted something to eat. She loved her beautiful flowers and she had many, many flowers.
Mother Smith was employed at St. Eugene Hospital in Dillon, South Carolina for thirteen years, Mullins Hospital for twenty-one and a half years and worked with Marion County Health Department until her health failed at the age of eighty-one years old.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents, was her twin: Cornelia Wright; a daughter: Brenda Smith; four brothers and three sisters.
Mother Cinda leaves to cherish her loving memories ~ three devoted sons: John F. Smith of East Orange, NJ, Marvin Junior Smith of the home, Robert Daughty of Mullins, SC; a daughter: Francis Daughty of Mullins, SC; two loving sisters: Mary L. Smith of Dillon, SC, Lillie Manning of East Orange, NJ; a faithful daughter-n-law: Nell Smith of East Orange, NJ; twelve grandchildren: sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; her special caregiver: Valencia Morrison; grandson: Courtney Smith her caregiver for many years; a long time friend/like-a-daughter: Terry S. Davis and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
