Mrs. Dorothy Smith Jones was born on December 9, 1956 in Pavo, Georgia to the Doris McCray Smith and the late Eugene Smith, Sr.

At an early age, she received Christ and rededicated her life to Christ on June 17, 2015 at Beulah Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

She dedicated her life to taking care of family, working hard and helping others. She worked at Archbold Memorial Hospital for over ten years.

She departed this life on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, Georgia. Her brother, Eugene Smith, Jr., preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories four children, Kenneth “Sketar” (Shameka) Jones, Thomasville, GA, Zechariah “Worm” (Natanya) Jones, Thomasville, GA, Seleta (Nathaniel) Jones-Crawford, Pompano Beach, FL, Tammie King, Pompano Beach, FL; three sisters, Barbara Ann Smith, Emma Smith , Thelma Smith, all of Thomasville, GA; six brothers, Roscoe (Tangela) Smith, Sr., Pavo, GA, Robert Smith, AZ, John Wesley Smith, Charles Smith, Ben Smith, all of Thomasville, GA, Jonathan (Sharonica) Smith, NC; 13 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
