Obituary For Willie Fred Simmons

A Celebration of Life for Willie Fred Simmons, 75, will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Terry’s Mortuary Chapel. Reverend Hardy Reynolds, Jr. will be the eulogist. Interment will be Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Alabama National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.

Willie Fred Simmons was born July 19, 1944 to the union of Willie Simmons and Naomi Garrett Simmons in Talladega County, Alabama.

Mr. Simmons confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended Mt. Cleveland Missionary Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Westside High School where he played football and basketball. On September 27, 1965, Willie enlisted in the United States Air Force and served honorably until May 2, 1969. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot and Wal-Mart after many years of dedicated service.

On the evening of Sunday, November 3, 2019, Willie answered the Master’s call. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Naomi Simmons.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Deanna Simmons of Winnipeg, Canada, JaBethani Simon of Oxford, Alabama and Yolanda Picketts of Jacksonville, Florida; two sons, Willie Simmons, Jr. of Winnipeg, Canada and Fredrion K. Simon of Oxford, Alabama; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
