Obituary For Shileta Scott

Ms. Shileta S. Scott, 57, died on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Tift Regional Hospital. Services are scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Beulah Hill Family Life Center at 11:00 a.m. Internment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, and the repast will be held at the Leroy Rogers Center. There will be a wake on Friday from 7:30-8:30 PM. On November 4, 2019, God called home one of his faithful servant, Ms. Shileta Scott. Ms. Scott was born on December 16, 1961in Tift County to the parentage of Grady and Ethel Lee Burr. She was a faithful member of Dayspring Inspirational Church in Tifton, Ga. until her health failed. She was educated in the Tift County School System. She was an active student with the class of 1979, but due to her love for her first born son, she pursued her education and graduated with the Class of 1980. Later in life, she went to Moultrie Technical College where she graduated with honors while receiving her certification as a Master of Cosmetology. She enjoyed doing hair, playing softball with the Tom Boy Team, playing board games such as Chess, Backgammon, Taboo, and Spade. Listening and singing to music was her favorite way to by pass-time. However, shopping was her favorite thing to do. Shileta was a hard working individual. For years she was employed with Prestolite as a factory laborer, paraprofessional with the Tift County School System, hairstylist, and long time employee for Roses Department Store. She is preceded in death by her son, Darryl Scott, Jr., parents, Grady and Ethel Burr, and grandparents, Eddie and Eva Lee Tukes. She leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Charmaine (Charita) Burr, and Kelvin Scott; her grand-children, Jayda Turnage and Jadyn Turnage; her sisters, Victoria (Daughtry) Melton, Kutana (Cornelius) Ponder, and Greta (Lorenzo) Simmons; her brothers, Arthur (Rosanna) Burr, Ray Burr, and Michael (Tonya) Burr; her nieces and nephews, Ebony Burr, Arthur Burr, Jr., Herman Solomon, Kendrick (Meagan) Solomon, Precious Melton, Daughtry “DJ” Melton, Darrell McQueen Melton, Brittney Strozier, ShaKendra Burr, Courtney Burr, Takeira DeBerry, Cornelius Ponder “Jr.”, Loren Simmons, Destiny Burr, and Felix Taylor; her aunts, Carla Tukes, and Carrie Wilson; her uncles, Eddie B. (Christine) Tookes, Aldine Tookes, and Earl Joe (Sandra) Tukes; her great aunt, Jessie Brinson Alls; her God-children, NaKesha Green, Santana Adaway, Brittiany Black, Cameron Bell, Ambrose King, Christopher King, Adrian Pridgon, Gerald Tumbling, and Michael Foster; her special friends, Brenda & Ernest Bell, Sarah Jean Mims, and Wendy Mansfield; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
