Obituary For Mrs. Natalie Romero

Natalia Romero (born Fortunata Natalia Alpizar Martinez), age 80, passed away peacefully November 5th, 2019 due to natural causes at Amicasa Hospice in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born October 14, 1939 in Acatitlan, Texcaltitlan, Estado de Mexico, Mexico. She was born to Apolonio and Maria Alpizar Martinez, and was the second eldest of two sisters, Zenaida Alpizar and Maria Luisa Alpizar, and one brother, Roman Alpizar. She left home at the age of 17, first arriving at Ensenada, Baja California where she traveled northern Mexico and finally immigrated to the United States in 1968. She lived most of her life between Los Angeles, California and Salem, Oregon. She was a dedicated and faithful Seventh Day Adventist, attending Spanish American Seventh Day Adventist Church in East Los Angeles. All her life she enjoyed knitting and crocheting quilts, hats and scarves for which all of her grandchildren have received many. She taught many the art of the yarn, stocking her home with every color and brand available. She was known for her enterprising personality and wit, finding her way in sales as she loved talking to new people everyday. She retired in 1994 while living and working in Salem Oregon. Natalia leaves to cherish many loving memories, her two sons Daniel Flores (Aisha), and Frank Romero (Valerie), nine grandchildren (Beatrice, Marilena, Frank Jr., Apolonia, Liliana and Vanessa of Oregon, and Aihlla, Morena, and Jared of Atlanta, Georgia), two great-grandchildren (Christopher and Rain); her best friend Valentina Medina, and faithful caregiver and friend, Marisela Salazar, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces/nephews, cousins, life-long friends and her SDA family.
