Obituary For VJ Funderburk

Mr. VJ Funderburk , 76, died Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on January 6, 1943 in Lancaster County South Carolina. He was the son of the late James and Bertha Alsbrooks Funderburk.

VJ accepted Christ at an early age and joined Silver Run Baptist Church. Later in life he joined Pleasant Plain Missionary Baptist Church and attended until his health declined.

VJ graduated from Barr Street High School.

Left to cherish his memories are three sisters, Freddie Owens, Las Vegas, Nevada, Rubie Owens, Charlotte, NC and Macie Rice of Lancaster, SC; one aunt, Della Funderburk, Monroe, N.C; two nephews, Fredric J. Rice, II and Clyde Owens, Jr. of Raleigh, NC; two nieces, Donna Owens, Los Angeles, CA and Elexzia Rice Thompson, Lancaster, SC and a host of other great nephews, great nieces and cousins.

Funeral Service will be Monday, November 11, 2019- 1:00 pm at Pleasant Plain Missionary Baptist Church, 3721 Shiloh Unity Road , Lancaster, South Carolina 29720. Funeral Service will be conducted by Reverend David A. Wright with burial in the church cemetery.
