Obituary For H.B. Rogers

H.B. Rogers 66, of Mt. Vernon, TX died Wednesday February 17, 2016 in Paris, TX. Services will be held Saturday February 27, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Denton Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, TX; with Dr. W. G. Lacy officiating. Interment will follow at Denton Cemetery. Services are under the direction of J.C. White Funeral & Cremation Services of Mt. Pleasant, TX. Viewing will be held Friday February 26, 2016 from 11a.m. to 4p.m. at the funeral home. Family will receive friends and love ones at Denton Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon from 6p.m to 8p.m. Friday. An online guestbook may be signed at www.jcwhitefd.com. H.B. Rogers, affectionately known as “Coot” by his family and friends. His grandchildren had given him the nickname of “Joe”, born on July 8, 1949 to Anison Rogers and Ethel Lee Doss Rogers who proceeded him in death. H.B. received his education from Booker T. Washington and Mount Vernon Independent School District. H.B. retired after fifteen years of employment with the Mount Vernon Independent School District. H.B. was a devoted member of Denton Baptist Church. H.B. met and married Lillian Ruth Fountain on February 19, 1968, and with this union three wonderful children were born. He is proceeded in death by his parents, six brothers: Viriece Minter, Norris Minter, A.J. Minter, Milton “Sam” Minter, Pat Minter, Jr., and Charles A. Rogers. Five sisters: Lonie V. Evans, Bertha Lee Jobe, Laurine Minter, Ethel Faye Ross and Oneta Ruth Fountain. Two granddaughters: Kenadye Wagner and Madyson Wagner. Father -in-law: James T. Fountain and mother-in-law Mildred Fountain. H.B. leaves to cherish his memories his devoted and love of his life his wife Lillian Rogers. Daughter, Jacqueline Diane Wagner (Melvin) of Dallas, Texas. Daughter, Charlotte Kay Rogers (Frederick) of Mount Vernon, Texas. Son, Jeffery Craig Rogers (Palinda) of Mount Pleasant, Texas. Seven Grandchildren: Brittany Traylor (Jamil), Colby Rogers (Taryn), Ja’Myra Fountain, Jakayla Rogers, Jacorey Rogers, Jakayra Rogers and Melanye Wagner. Six Great Grand Children: Briahna Walker, Braxten Traylor, future grandson Carter Joe Rogers, Keondre Shine, JaLynda Richardson, JaLiyah Richardson. One sister, Myrine Harris, South Bend, Indiana. One brother Anison Rogers (Louise) of Dallas, Texas. A special niece/daughter Paulette Hunt. A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
